# Hearing matters, even when money’s tight
Rising costs in New Zealand mean many of us are watching every dollar, and it’s easy to think hearing aids can wait. Hearing is an essential part of daily life, and delaying care can make conversations harder, reduce confidence and gradually affect social and work life. # Funding options
Hearing aids can be partially or even fully funded in New Zealand depending on your circumstances. Most Kiwis are eligible for some assistance through the Government Hearing Aid Subsidy. ACC can help if more than 5% of hearing loss is due to an injury, including occupational noise exposure or accidents. Veterans’ Affairs New Zealand also supports eligible veterans.
